Specialist Mentor Vacancies

Pay Rate: £42.57 per hour

We are looking to recruit Specialist Mentors in the Student Wellbeing Service. These are sessional posts and hours are not fixed but are flexible according to the needs of the service.

The function of this role is to provide regular one-to-one mentoring support to students with mental health conditions (including schizophrenia, bipolar affective disorder, depression and anxiety disorders) and/or autistic spectrum conditions. The Specialist Mentors will help students to find ways of managing the symptoms of their conditions to minimise the impact on their academic work and on adjusting to and coping with university life in general. Specialist Mentors meet with students regularly in term-time and will occasionally see students outside of term-time.

Applicants will need to have experience of working with individuals with mental health and/or Asperger syndrome and have some experience of counselling/guidance work. Applicants will also need to meet the DSA-NMH Mandatory Qualifications or Professional Body Membership criteria. Further details are available in the Job Description.

This post is sessional- there are no guaranteed minimum hours. Hours may vary each week.
