We are recruiting a new Senior Clinical Lecturer post on a permanent basis. In addition, the Senior Clinical Lecturer will be expected to fulfil the role of Academic Lead for Electives, for a 5 year duration, with potential to extend.

Brunel Medical School welcomed its first intake of students in September 2022. The MBBS programme has a number of distinctive features, including team-based learning, programmatic assessment & early patient clinical contact in years 1&2. A range of digital technologies are being used to enhance learning, and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion are embedded across all aspects of the student experience. 

The postholder will be a senior clinician, GMC registered with a licence to practice, and in practice as a GP or consultant. They will have experience of educational leadership and a track record of high quality undergraduate medical education, preferably in a university-affiliated role. Ideally, they will have experience of student selection, assessment and student support. 

The postholder will have a significant external facing role, working in collaboration with the Directors of Undergraduate Education (DUEs), Specialty Leads and Module Leads at the partner NHS Trusts affiliated with BMS. The postholder will contribute to other areas of medical education, such as TBL, the House Tutor system, Multiple Mini Interviewing and OSCE. They will also participate in the ongoing General Medical Council (GMC) accreditation process. 

The postholder will be a Senior Clinical Lecturer and will be supported by the Curriculum and Placement Partnerships teams. They will also work closely with the Head of Phase 2/3, Head of Primary Care, Assessment Leads, Curriculum Leads and Speciality Leads and Academic Lead for Year 5. 

You may be required to provide support for the Physician Associate Programme which is part of Brunel Medical School
