Position Title: Research Systems & Communications Manager

Department/College: Research Support and Development Office (RSDO)

Location: Brunel University London, Uxbridge Campus

Salary: Grade 9 from: £54,261 to £64,267 inclusive of London Weighting with potential to progress to £68,017 per annum inclusive of London Weighting through sustained exceptional contribution. (Pro-rata if Part-time)

The RDSO service supports the Brunel research community to identify and secure external funding from UK and international funders, manage and oversee contractual and compliance aspects of research and innovation projects, facilitate research collaborations with external partners, and manages the commercialisation of our research to deliver societal impact.

We are looking for an experienced individual to lead the development, implementation and enhancement of: (i) research support systems infrastructure and (ii) research development related internal communication and engagement programmes.  The post holder will be responsible for the proactive leadership and maintenance of the research development system infrastructure, which is in the process of a transition from a Unit 4 to a Worktribe-based system, as well as RSDO’s involvement with other relevant systems.  The post holder will be responsible for driving engaging communication programmes and enhancing the development of internal research communities, through the effective use of multi-media platforms that will facilitate greater research engagement and support the creation of high-quality research grant proposals.  The post holder will execute these activities both individually and through active collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders and will be expected to provide a highly professional and expert level of service.

A first degree or relevant professional qualification and work experience within a higher education and/or research environment are required.  The post holder will need excellent IT skills, familiarity with research funder online submission systems, and system administration level experience with a pre-award research grant management system.
