Research Assistant/Research Fellow in Welding and Metallic Materials Training
The Additive Manufacturing and 4D Printing Research Group is looking to recruit a Research Assistant / Research Fellow in Welding and Metallic Materials Training. This role entails developing teaching and assessment content and leading training on subjects including but not limited to Welding Processes and Equipment, as well as Metallic Materials for use in Aerospace and Defence. There is an expectation that the post holder has theoretical and hands-on familiarity with welding, brazing and metallic materials. Previous exposure to aerospace and defence industries is preferred. Other tasks include but not limited to producing reports for various projects, presentations and collaborating closely with project stakeholders.

Salary: Grade R1
Research Assistant: from £36,640 to £38,638 inclusive of London Weighting with potential to progress to £39,682 per annum inclusive of London Weighting through sustained exceptional contribution.
Research Fellow: from £40,757 to £44,179 inclusive of London Weighting with potential to progress to £47,921 per annum inclusive of London Weighting through sustained exceptional contribution.

The successful applicant is expected to have a high level of initiative and an ability to work both collaboratively and independently. The candidate is expected to be able to travel locally and nationally. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required and the ability to quickly adapt to a multinational environment is advantageous.
