Location: Brunel University London, Uxbridge Campus

Salary: Grade R1

Research Assistant: from £36,390 to £38,388 inclusive of London Weighting with potential to progress to £39,432 per annum inclusive of London Weighting through sustained exceptional contribution.

Research Fellow: from £40,507 to £43,929 inclusive of London Weighting with potential to progress to £47,671 per annum inclusive of London Weighting through sustained exceptional contribution.

Hours: Full-time

Applications are invited for a  Research Assistant/Research Fellow position in the Centre for Advanced Powertrain and Fuels at Brunel University London. The post holder will be working on a Innovate UK funded project on the research and development of a high efficiency hydrogen combustion engine. The successful candidate will be involved in setting up the hydrogen engine demonstrator, fuel supply and control systems, and verifying the modelling and optimal engine control strategies for ultra-high efficiency and low emissions.

The successful applicant should have a PhD degree in mechanical engineering and have experience in combustion engine experiments. Applications will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification.

The successful applicant will work closely with other members and external research partners associated to this project and attend regular project meetings to report the research progress. The applicant is expected to prepare and contribute in preparation of journal papers and conference proceedings.
