Salary: Grade 8 from £45,990 - £59,043 per annum inclusive of London Weighting, with potential to progress to £66,114 through sustained exceptional contribution.

Brunel Medical School first opened its doors to students in September 2022. The MBBS programme has a number of distinctive features, including early patient clinical contact in years 1 & 2, Team-Based Learning (TBL) and programmatic assessment. A range of digital technologies are being used to enhance learning, and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion are embedded across all aspects of the student experience.
We are recruiting a Lecturer (Education), permanent basis. The Lecturer will be expected to fulfil the role of Year 1 Lead for the MBBS programme, for a 4-year duration, with a potential to extend. In addition, the postholder will be required to lead on written assessment for Phase 1 (Years 1 and 2) of the MBBS program.
The postholder will be an academic from a medically related scientific background, with experience of educational leadership in a University affiliated role.
The postholder will be a key member of the medical education team led by the Dean. Working along others, they will have responsibility for the design, delivery, quality management and enhancement of Year 1 undergraduate medical education. This will include managing all year 1 modules, and liaising with module leads. The Year 1 Lead will collaborate with the Phase 1 Lead and Year 2 Lead in the process of curriculum review and refresh.
The post holder will contribute to other areas of medical education, such as Team Based Learning (TBL), the personal tutor system, Multiple Mini Interviewing and OSCEs. They will also participate in the ongoing General Medical Council (GMC) accreditation process. Duties may vary, and leadership roles may rotate depending on requirements of the programme.
