Location: Brunel University London, Uxbridge Campus 

Salary: Grade from: £27,757 to £29,215 per annum inclusive of London Weighting with potential to progress to £29,827 per annum inclusive of London Weighting through sustained exceptional contribution. (Pro-rata for Part-time) 

Hours: Full-time

The Directorate of Estates and Facilities is recruiting for an Infrastructure Operative to join the Operational maintenance team. As an Infrastructure Operative, you will carry out maintenance and repair to the estates Building Fabric and associated assets. 

The Directorate of Estates and Facilities is responsible for the management of all Brunel's physical estate and provides a co-ordinated approach to developing, maintaining and adapting Brunel’s spaces to create an environment which supports the University mission. The primary duty of an Infrastructure Operative is to provide high quality maintenance services.

Main Accountabilities

As part of the Infrastructure Operatives team, you will provide a high-quality, professional and customer-focused maintenance service across the University estate. You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, supporting a variety of trades and working closely with colleagues, Infrastructure Technicians and Infrastructure Delivery Managers.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

General

  • Basic Carpentry 
  • Basic Plumbing 
  • Basic Electrical 
  • Painting and decorating 
  • Tiling and plastering 
  • Reactive maintenance repairs to building fabric 
  • Maintenance to the Universities Residential, Academic and Research facilities 
  • Inspection and maintenance of fire doors 
  • Assisting non-skilled and skilled trades staff (when necessary)
