Salary: Grade 8 from £45,140 to £57,803 inclusive of London Weighting with potential to progress to £64,606 per annum, inclusive of London Weighting, through sustained exceptional contribution.

The Digital Services Directorate is responsible for managing and delivering technology, data and digital services to support the academic, administrative, and research functions of the university.

We are looking for a hands-on Information Security Operations Lead to join our Cyber and Information Security Team and be at the forefront of protecting our digital world. You’ll oversee our security operations, ensuring we’re always a step ahead of potential threats,

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead day-to-day security operations, monitoring, and response to keep our systems protected.
  • Manage incident detection, response, and recovery to minimise risks and downtime.
  • Drive the implementation of security tools, automation, and processes to enhance protection.
  • Collaborate with IT and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless security integration.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Proven experience in security operations and incident management.
  • Deep understanding of security frameworks, SIEM, and incident response tools.
  • Certifications like CISSP, CISM, or GIAC
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to act quickly in high-pressure situations.
  • A proactive attitude and strong communication skills.
