Brunel Medical School welcomed its first intake of students in September 2022. The MBBS programme has several distinctive features, including team-based learning, programmatic assessment & early patient clinical contact in years 1&2. A range of digital technologies are being used to enhance learning, and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion are embedded across all aspects of the student experience.
We are recruiting a new Senior Clinical Lecturer post on a permanent basis. In addition, the Senior Clinical Lecturer will be expected to fulfil the role of Phase 1 OSCE lead, for a 5-year duration, with potential to extend.
The postholder will be a senior clinician, GMC registered with a licence to practice, and in practice as a GP or consultant. They will have experience of educational leadership and a track record of high quality undergraduate medical education, preferably in a university-affiliated role. Ideally, they will have experience of assessment in clinical programmes.
- The postholder will lead the delivery of OSCEs for years 3 and 4 of the medical programme and support the preparation and delivery of OSCEs across the medical school, including the Physician Associate programme. They will contribute to other areas of medical education, such as clinical and communication skills, the House Tutor system, Multiple Mini Interviewing and written assessment. They will also participate in the ongoing General Medical Council (GMC) accreditation process. Candidates who have an interest in research will be encouraged and supported to continue in this area of work.
