Salary: Grade 6 from: £34,145 to £38,638 inclusive of London Weighting with potential to progress to £40,757 per annum inclusive of London Weighting, through exceptional contribution.

We are seeking an experienced and innovative individual to join our careers information team on a fixed-term maternity cover basis. Working within a collaborative and award-winning department of careers and employability professionals, you will join the Student Professional Development Department (SPD) at Brunel University of London, as part of the Careers team.

The Careers Information Adviser role focuses on managing and developing careers information and resources, to include online content and social media presence, and supporting the work of the careers team. This will include dealing with initial careers queries from students, making appointments and helping with both virtual or face to face classroom facilitation and administration during careers conferences and workshops. You  will develop and maintain the online careers information resources and provide front-line support to students and graduates, responding to diverse career inquiries, and actively promote Student Professional Development.

This interesting and valued role in the SPD can be as diverse as it can be challenging, offering you the opportunity to contribute to cross-university collaborations such as Graduation and Welcome Week, as well as coordinating careers initiatives including Careers Fest, International Week and Careers Live, our programme of careers webinars.

Educated to degree level, you will draw from a range of skills, creative and administrative, in this role. It is desirable that you have some experience and understanding of higher education and graduate employability. You will have a creative flair, possess strong communication, administration, IT and analytical skills. You will display a flexible, can-do approach and be willing to become involved in all SPD activities. A knowledge of content management systems, and experience of writing for social media will be a distinct advantage but further training will be provided.
