Digital Services are looking for three Application Support Engineers to join our Application Support Team to support a range of University IT applications. To provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for our software applications, ensuring their stability, security, and optimal performance. This role involves managing configuration changes, patching infrastructure and applications, and collaborating with vendors and internal teams. Working closely with development and service management teams to ensure the best service possible for our customers.

Key responsibilities will be

  • Deliver Level 2 and Level 3 support for application-related issues
  • Implement configuration changes and enhancements to software applications
  • Perform regular patching of infrastructure and applications to ensure security and performance
  • Manage relationships with vendors and coordinate upgrades and maintenance activities
  • Work with service delivery teams to create high quality documentation for first line and self service
  • Develop and maintain application roadmaps and contribute to annual planning activities

 The successful candidate must have

  • Proven experience in providing Level 2 and Level 3 support for software applications
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with configuration management and patching of infrastructure and applications
  • Knowledge of security best practices and conducting security assessments
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Understanding of data governance and cyber security principles
