Successful candidates who meet the criteria for non-clinical academic appointments may be appointed onto the Academic payscale: 

  • Lecturer (Education) (£42,882- £55,755 pa + London Weighting £2,508 pa) 
  • Senior Lecturer (Education) (£60,907 - £66,537 pa + London Weighting £2,508 pa) 
  • Reader (£70,579 – £74,861 pa + London Weighting £2,508 pa) 
  • Professor (£76,909 minimum inclusive of London Weighting) 

Successful candidates who meet the criteria for Clinical appointments may be appointed onto the Clinical Academic payscale:   

  • Clinical Lecturer (Education):  below the level of Consultant and Senior Lecturer/Reader - Pre or Post 2009 Clinical Lecturer Scale – (£45,943 - £85,796 pa + London Weighting £2,508 pa) 
  • Clinical Senior Lecturer /Reader (Education): below the level of Consultant – Pre or Post 2009 Clinical Senior Lecturer/Reader Scale – (£71,694 - £100,084 pa + London Weighting £2,508 pa)  
  • Consultant Clinical Academic/Senior Academic GP (CCA/SAGP) grade - (£85,732 - £145,478 pa + London Weighting £2,508 pa) 

Successful applicants will share our passion for high-quality medical education, research, and positive health outcomes. We will consider applicants with interests in a broad range of areas of expertise and specialism, and with clinical and non-clinical backgrounds. 

It is expected that the Professor or Reader position will, alongside regular teaching and research duties, take a role spearheading the development of the Medical School’s research portfolio. We are also interested in applicants who may wish to take up a leadership role as Director of Medical Education. Other appointees may also take responsibilities in areas including teaching in anatomy and assessment.

We are particularly interested in applications from colleagues whose area of interest aligns with our initiatives and partnerships across London in digital and medical technology.
