Location: Brunel University London, Uxbridge Campus

Salary: Grade R1

Research Assistant: from £35,490 to £37,488 inclusive of London Weighting with potential to progress to £38,532 per annum inclusive of London Weighting through sustained exceptional contribution.

Research Fellow: from £39,607 to £44,240 inclusive of London Weighting with potential to progress to £46,771 per annum inclusive of London Weighting through sustained exceptional contribution.

Applications are invited for a Research Assistant/Research Fellow position in the Centre for Advanced Powertrain and Fuels at Brunel University London. The post holder will be working on a Innovate UK funded project on diesel pilot ignited hydrogen/ammonia combustion engine. It will involve experimental studies and 1D modelling studies of dual fuel hydrogen and ammonia combustion engines.

The successful applicant should have a PhD degree in experimental studies of combustion engines. Applicants should have great knowledge on engine experiments, engine instruments, engine pressure and heat release analysis. Applications will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification.

The successful applicant will work closely with other members and external research partners associated to this project and attend regular project meetings to report the research progress. The applicant is expected to prepare and contribute in preparation of journal papers and conference proceedings.
